Danny Delany at the Australian Open this week
Onehunga's Danny Delany has been playing this week at the Australian Open, the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest and most lucrative bowls event.
It has been played this week at the Shepparton Park and Mooroopna clubs in Victoria. Other NZ players included Rowan Brassey, Richard Girvan and Ali Forsyth
Delany, playing in the pairs alongside Mark Watt, won their first match on Monday defeating Geoff and Torie Babitsch. That got the Delany pair through to the last 32, but unfortunately they were defeated in their next knock out match, going down to Gerard Beath and David Fergurson.
